Frank Clive Because Seattle has lot of rainy days but it doesn't rain very heavily. It could rain all day here and we'll get only 0.10 inch of the rain fall. Seattle has average annual rainfall of 37 inches which is far less than Chicago, Houston, New York City, and Miami. Actually Seattle ranks in the top 5 nationally 226 cloudy days per year.

Seattle is in the east of the ocean from where clouds pick up moisture, and is in the west of the mountains, that means the clouds have to drop that water in order to be light enough to climb over the mountains that's why Seattle has so much rain. | Answered th, 2010
